The GTi-R was nicknamed "Baby Godzilla" because of its similarities to a not-so-distant relative, the R32 Skyline GT-R. Both rolled off the factory line with Nissan's ATTESA all-wheel drive, a 5-speed manual transmission, and a turbocharger. Although it does not share the infamous RB26DET engine, the GTi-R got its heart from another relative.. the Silvia. Pulsar GTi-Rs came factory equipped with a 2.0L SR20DET Red Top spinning a Garrett T28 turbocharger but unlike the Silvias, this motor was transversely mounted to fit inside the engine bay. A functional hood scoop feeds the top-mount intercooler and adds to the rally-inspired aesthetic of the GTi-R's design. The interior is minimal but driver-focused; oil temp, oil pressure, and boost gauges have been seamlessly integrated into the dashboard center control stack. This JDM hot hatch has a generous amount of room in the cockpit for passengers and a reasonably large area in the hatch for cargo. Whether you're looking for a daily driver, weekend warrior, or track car, the GTi-R is the right choice. Disclaimer: There is a slight exhaust leak coming from the downpipe and is starting to leak from the rear main seal; the clutch does not slip. The undercarriage has surface rust which is typical of many vehicles this age (see video below).
